SUMMER VACATION

Down the small slide at the California Adventure Hotel.

"Look at me swim, ouma"

Rub a dub dub, three girls in a tub.

Sun Babies.

Snacks at the pool.

Kamryn had to pass a swimming test to be permitted to go down this monstrosity.

Katie waiting her turn to go down.

Ready or not, here I come.

Touch down.

Kamryn must surely be the smallest and youngest child to attempt this slide.

Click on this photo to take a closer glimpse of the happy expression on her face.

Little Sharon watching from the sidelines.

At Disneyland the Mad Hatter wasn't very friendly, but the girls loved him anyway.

Ouma and the girls riding on Jumbo.

Kamryn refused to go on the boat because it went through "a whales mouth".

Ouma and her girls in the tea cups.

Its a child's world!

Meeting Belle

Entering Princess Tiana's world.

We love you Ariel.

In the Rockets.

Flashing their lighted swords, three tired girls waited for the firework display.

One went to sleep and missed the lights.

Watching Mary Poppins on Television.

A highlight for the girls was having their faces painted.

Who is the fairest of them all!

Belle, Cinderella, and Tiana.

In our rental car.

Thanks Eric for paying the bill for the California Adventure Hotel. What luxury!

Katie frolicking in the ocean

Little Sharon testing out the water.

Kamryn playing in the sand.

Oupa buried the girls in the sand.

He is still my Best Half. How I love this man.

At Huntington Beach. Ouma's favorite beach in the U.S.A.

Our Utah granddaughters came to visit for two weeks. We treated ourselves in Los Angeles and spent our days shopping for Princess Dresses, face painting, movies, swimming and tanning at the Beach and a visit to Disneyland.

Funny moments: a) Little Sharon became so comfortable in the water she believed that she could swim without floaties. Panicky I watched while she took a giant leap into deep water. Fully clothed I jumped into the water and lifted her out by grasping her hair. (No time to think of my actions). Her response was "I'm going to tell my mommy that you pulled my hair!" :-) b) Kamryn said to a lady who wore a scarf (doek) around her head in the hot tub, "Are you a pirate?":-) Out of the mouths of babes!

  2. These are three very lucky granddaughters to have you and Bro. George as grandparents. Love the picture of the 3 girls with their sunglasses on :-)

  3. I agree with Ruby, they are so lucky to have an ouma and oupa like you. Thank you for taking all these pictures. My fav is Kami going down the slide... she's fearless; and the girls meeting the princesses, how shy they look. I love those girlies.

  4. Dan and I LOVE these pictures! We made each of them bigger and ummed and ahhed over every one! My absolute favorite is the three of them on one sun chair examining something. Another is how absolutely gorgeous each is with their princess dress and painted faces! That must have been such a treat for them. Katie wanted to do it so badly last year when we went but we felt it was too pricey!
I also love the picture of Katie with Oupa in the ocean. I can just tell how much pure joy she is having.
From the bottom of my heart...thank-you!
