Happy Birthday Rob

I love you for loving my beautiful baby girl, Cindy! I love how you make the best teriyaki burgers ever! I love how you enjoy sports, and seem to excel in everything athletic! I love how you love and treat your mother (that assures me that you will always be good to my daughter.) I love how you play with my grandchildren! I love how you are always willing to try new things, like indoor and outdoor surfing. I love how you help Cindy with the cooking and cleaning. I love how you and Cindy enjoy playing together (example. playing catch around the kitchen table or racing up the slide at Pump it Up) I love how you always show a genuine interest in other people. I love that you are a righteous priesthood holder. I love you Rob Staples

Happy Birthday Kamryn Lindsey

I love you my precious Kamryn. I love your happy smile and your happy disposition. I love how your face lights up when you see me. I love how you make me feel young. I love your innocence. I love how you always say please and thank-you (you have me twisted around your little finger with those small words). I love how the world is your playground and you are not afraid to explore new things. I love how your little body is growing fit and strong. I love how you call me oumie and how oupa is oupie! I love how you enjoy visiting my house. I love how you enjoy good food. I love how you enjoy reading books. I love how you enjoy dressing up like the princess you are. I love everything about you Kammie. Happy 3rd birthday.

Boss!

The guys at Siemens gave him this South African rugby jersey. They had"boss" and "50" inscribed on it.

The Big 50

Siemens gave George's office a make-over! New paint, carpets and furniture. It looks and smells so good. Friday's are casual days hence no collar and tie.

George celebrated the 29th aniversary of his 21st birthday last week. His department at work organised a fancy luncheon for everyone at work. They also had a cake made with his picture on. That evening Eric and Sam took us to P.F. Chang's as a birthday gift!

George thank you for making me want to be the best I can be. Thank you for my four beautiful children. Thank you for taking me to see all the 'chick flicks' even though you sleep throughout the movie. Thank you for loving me. I love you honey, happy 50th birthday.

Dylan is now a month old and has already had his first haircut.

A proud oupa.

Kamryn adores her daddy because he is always doing things like this to entertain her. Kamryn giggled with delight.

My beautiful grandson

I love Eric. He is such a good husband, dad, church member, and provider. I love how he disciplines Kamryn in a firm gentle, loving, long suffering way.

Fun at sunny San Diego. The first city in California.

George and I flew to San Diego on Friday morning and came home on Sunday evening. We stayed at the Hilton Hotel on the bay, walked along the beach, took a bus tour around the city, went to see two movies, swam in the ocean, cycled on hired beach cruisers along the island, and just had ton's of fun time together. Thank's my love for a perfect weekend!

Trip to San Diego

View from our hotel room
Walking along the broadwalk

We stayed on the 27th floor
Night view of the Hilton Hotel
Famous Gas Lamp District
Breakfast buffet at the hotel
Naughty parrot tried to steal my gold chain
Weaving by day, Penelope would be forced to choose a new husband when her tapestry was complete, but all the while she waited unraveling her work by night, steadfastly sure of Ulysses return. Dont you love greek mythology. (Can you see 2 sets of eyes?)

This statue erected after the 2nd world war is named 'The Best Generation'. It reminds me of America's 18th President Grant. Why? Unconditional surrender!
I realize how old I'm getting when I'm one of the few people who remember who Bob Hope was
An honorary statue of Bob Hope entertaining troops
I'd swop my comfortable home for one of these, behind the California sea-gull
The baseball stadium for the Padre's
Relaxing at the beach
After swimming in the ocean, we hired beach cruiser's and cycled around 'paradise'. The tall white building at the back is the Hilton Hotel.
Cycling and swimming makes me hungry, so...................
We stopped to have lunch
This blue steel bridge is 2.3 miles long!
We enjoyed the hotel's pool and hot-tub
We also took a tour bus around the city. This place is called 'Little Italy'
